Zaferia Business Association Board of Directors
The ZBA Board of Directors is made up of seven members, each serving a two-year term. The Board meets most months of the year on the second Thursday of the month.

Alan Gomez is the owner/operator of Commodity. Commodity opened in 2017 as a result of Alan & his wife moving back to California from Oregon and him not wanting to rework resumes, instead he decided to start his own business. Coming from nearly a decade in the beer industry as well as the coffee industry, Commodity specializes in everything coffee & beer.
Dean Lockwood is a Southern California native, growing up in Palm Springs. He attended San Diego State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Arts & Sciences with an emphasis in Youth and Family Agency Administration. His background also includes over 10 years of nonprofit leadership as executive director of a Senior Center in Palm Springs California. He has also worked with a number of non-profit agencies, including Boys and Girls Clubs, Financial Counseling agencies, and Domestic Violence Shelters.
Dean is the Director of Development & Community Outreach for Su Casa – Ending Domestic Violence in Long Beach. Su Casa provides shelter and supportive services that touch over 3,600 survivors of domestic violence each year.
